Still Waiting for Spring — impatiently

Friday afternoon the temps dropped at least 20 degrees — sheesh!  By the time I left the office it was 40 and very windy!  And then rain which turned to ice and then snow Friday night and Saturday.  So I am still waiting for spring.

Needless to say I did nothing outside over the weekend.  I did pick up some groceries and did a bit of shopping.  My favorite clothing store had a 40% off sale on the entire store, so I got out late Saturday afternoon — after watching the Jayhawks get soundly trounced.  The place was packed!  I purchased another pair of jeans, a pair of navy blue trousers for spring, a black a-line skirt, two tee shirts, and a gift for my mother’s birthday.  She and I are going on a weekend trip in May, so I bought her a new spring/summer print jacket and a sleeveless tee to wear with it.  I think she will like it.  So a little retail therapy to pick up my spirits after that depressing game.

I spent some time in the kitchen — roasted a butternut squash, made another batch of carrot muffins, cooked some rice, made egg salad.  I plan to make another batch of vegetable fried rice this week, so I needed to get the rice done and in the fridge.

The pug was just bad all weekend — perhaps because we weren’t able to get out to the park.  She kept getting into the cat’s food every time I turned my back on her, tried to get into the kitchen garbage several times, kept leaping at me, pulling the throw blanket down from the back of the couch — just bad.
