Let the Madness Begin — March, that is

Ah, this is one of my favorite times of the year!  College basketball March Madness.  The Big 12 championship game between KU and KState was great — I have been a KU fan for years.  I watched mucho basketball this weekend and will for the next few weeks to come!  YAY!  And it is great knitting time, too.  I worked on the sleeves for the cotton baby cardi. The sweater will soon be done.

And the Mississippi State-Kentucky game was a nail biter!  Kentucky sent the game to overtime with a bucket at .1 seconds left — and then won by 1.  It just doesn’t get any better than the madness in March.

I made hummus on Saturday, carrot muffins and vegetable fried rice yesterday.  I love the carrot muffins — the taste of carrot cake without the fatty frosting.  They have crushed pineapple and I add walnuts, and the recipe calls for wheat germ but I use ground flaxseed instead.  I had two for breakfast this morning.

I got my annual spring haircut so I am ready for warmer temps!

I finished reading The Swan Thieves.  It was a good read — I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did The Historian, but it held my interest and I do like her writing style.  I have The Hunger Games in my book bag to start.

It was pretty windy and chilly yesterday but the pug and I got out for a walk at the park after 3 hours of basketball watching.
