Blink of an Eye Weekend

Wow — Sunday night already!  I could use another day.  This weekend has really flown by.

Friday evening I went with two friends from work out to dinner and then we saw the new Frances McDormand film, Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day.  Good little movie.  I enjoyed it.  Then I got home in time to watch the last 14 minutes of the KU game.

Saturday I got some things done around the house.  Packed a couple of boxes to mail to the fashionista — some clothing and miscellaneous stuff that she didn’t take when she left.  I went to the library and got a couple of dvds – We are Marshall with Matthew McConaughey and a foreign film called Sophie Scholl, which is based on a true story in WW II.  I haven’t watched either yet.  Basketball has been on all weekend.  I did some grocery shopping — I just finished cooking some rice for the week.  I want to make some Indian food — curried chickpeas — later this week and eat them over rice.

Even though it turned rather wintry and damp at the end of the week, I went ahead and got my spring and summer clothing out and sorted through it.  Some I will not likely wear and put in a bag to donate.  The rest I got laundered and either hung up or put in the ironing basket.

I got the second piece of the tank knitted and did a 3 needle bind off on the shoulders.  It is ready for the side seaming and then the single crochet edging.  I also got two repeats done on the Branching Out scarf while watching basketball.  It doesn’t seem like I got much knitting accomplished, but compared to the last few weekends, I really did.

I really like the Minimalist sweater that is now available for purchase at Knitting Daily.  I usually buy Interweave Knits but for some reason the Fall 2007 issue escaped me.  I think I may order the pattern, but I am waiting until I have at least two items finished.  That should motivate me!
