At the Pumpkin Patch

Ryan went to the pumpkin patch on Friday — isn’t he the cutest?

And here he is in his costume.

Knitting is progressing slowly.  I am nearly finished with the Vneck baby cardigan which is a baby gift.  All that is left is to weave in the ends and sew on the buttons.  I need to get busy and finish the little Devan cardigan.  I was working on a simple garter stitch scarf on big needles using two shades of brown alpaca boucle and decided it was too wide, so I spent my Sunday evening television watching time ripping it out.  I knit Ryan a simple hat using a size 6-12 month pattern and it was way too big.  I let Brie have it for Kenan and will start knitting another.  I am nearly half done with the lace scarf.  I really want to knit a pair of socks and I keep looking at my sock yarn, but I am forcing myself to complete projects I have already started and/or promised before I start something new.

My DD and one of her friends are submitting work to a gallery along with my mother and one of her friends.  Everything will be set up tomorrow and the artists’ reception is scheduled for the Final Friday Art Crawl this week.  I am preparing the food in addition to the many other hats I wear during the week!  It should be fun and I am excited for DD.  She is pretty nervous about having people look at her stuff and this is the first time she has attempted anything public.

Where did September go???

Gee, October is here already!  We are still having summer weather though — we had a few cool fall-like days and then back to the 90s.

Current knitting projects include 8 rows to go on the denim WoolEase baby blanket I started for Ryan right before his birth.  I had put it away for summer and got it out a couple of weeks ago to finish.  I have a garter stitch scarf on US 15 needles — using two skeins of alpaca boucle — brown and khaki.  A Little Leaf Scarf, an easy lace pattern, using KnitPicks Shimmer in the Turquoise Splendor colorway.  I restarted this scarf FOUR times and this time I am finally happy with it.  I have close to 20 repeats done out of 64. I have two baby sweaters to sew up and finish — the Devan pieces have been blocked and I will pick those up on Saturday.  And I have knit a V neck cardigan in a size 3-6 months that is ready to sew up and finish.  I would like to get those done in the next week or so.  I am experiencing the cravings to start knitting another pair of socks, but I want to get these baby sweaters done first!

I also purchased Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in a baby blue colorway for a shawl collar cardigan for baby Ryan.  Need to get started on that.

I am scheduled to play two services again on Sunday — which means a three hour practice this evening.  No knitting tonight!

I have been giving bass guitar lessons to a middle school boy at my church.  His next lesson is Monday, so I need to get all that stuff together over the weekend.

Gotta go — will post more next week and upload some photos!
